1. Who we are

Cociniro ("Cociniro," "we," "us," or "our") operates cociniro.com and delivers meal-kit ingredient bundles in Cairo and Giza, Egypt. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our site or place an order, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

Order information. When you check out, we collect your full name, phone number (and an optional secondary phone number), email address, and delivery address (governorate, area, street, building, floor/apartment, and any delivery notes or landmarks you give us).

Checkout activity. If you start entering your details but don't finish your order, we may capture your name, email, and phone as soon as you've filled them in, so we can send a one-time reminder if you'd like help finishing. Every reminder includes an unsubscribe link.

Order history. We keep a record of what you've ordered and its delivery/payment status, so you can look it up later at our order-status page.

Feedback. If you complete a post-delivery feedback form, we store your star ratings, written comments, and satisfaction score, linked to your order.

Support conversations. If you contact us by WhatsApp or email, we keep that conversation to help resolve your question.

Technical information. Like most websites, our server logs standard technical details (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.

3. How we use your information

To take, prepare, and deliver your order, including contacting you about timing or a problem with an item.

To process payment — currently Cash on Delivery; card and mobile wallet payment are coming soon through our payment partner, Paymob.

To send order-related messages (confirmation, delivery updates) and, if you don't finish checkout, an optional one-time reminder — always with an unsubscribe option.

To respond to your questions and support requests.

To improve our menu, service, and website — including through the anonymous, first-party experimentation described under "Cookies" below.

To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. Beyond the hashed identifiers shared with marketing and analytics platforms described under "Cookies" below, we do not share your personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

4. Who we share information with

We share the minimum information necessary with service providers who help us run Cociniro — including our database and hosting provider, our transactional email provider, and, once card/wallet payment is live, our payment processor, which will handle payment details directly (Cociniro never stores your card number). We don't name these providers individually here; each is bound to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us.

5. Cookies

Cociniro currently uses only strictly necessary cookies/local storage to keep your bundle selections and checkout progress as you move between steps, and a first-party, anonymous cookie that randomly assigns you to a variant when we're testing a change to the site (for example, different wording on a button) — it never contains your name, email, or any other personal information, and no data leaves Cociniro's own systems.

We use marketing and analytics platforms to understand how visitors use our site and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. Where you have already provided information to us — such as your name, email address, phone number, or general location — an encrypted, non-readable (hashed) version of that information may be shared with these platforms so they can match your visit to their own systems for advertising and audience-measurement purposes. This hashed information cannot be read back into your name, email, or phone number by us or by these platforms; each platform processes it under its own privacy policy.

6. Your rights

Under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law, you can ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy, ask us to correct inaccurate data, ask us to delete your data where we're not required to keep it (for example, for tax records), and withdraw consent for optional communications — like the abandoned-checkout reminder — at any time.

7. Data retention

We keep order records for 5 years, as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. Abandoned-checkout contact details are kept only long enough to send a single reminder, or until you order or unsubscribe, whichever comes first.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across our site and restricted, need-to-know access to customer data within our team. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.

9. Children's privacy

Cociniro is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service changes. We'll post the updated version here with a new effective date; significant changes will be highlighted on our site.
